    Ma’alaea Banyans is located in Ma’alaea, central to all of Maui.  This romantic getaway is quiet & private yet central to everything. Look no further for a perfect Honeymoon or Anniversary get-away, whether it’s your first or your 50th!

    This location has some of the most pristine and lightly visited beaches on the island. It’s just a short walk to Sugar Beach (5 miles of beautiful, sandy, secluded beach). Or, walk directly to a small hidden beach right in front of the complex.

    This is the best kept secret on Maui!

    Ma’alaea village is a gem with its central location and its fantastic trade winds. They provide a cooling breeze that keeps the temperatures just right. Just in case, we have A/C and Ceiling Fans in every room.

    From the lanai, gaze out and watch the sunrise over Haleakala (House of the Sun), the long dormant 10,000 foot volcano. Watch green sea turtles bobbing up for air and rolling in the surf, even sunning themselves on the beach.

    Beautifully landscaped grounds with a heated pool will melt away your stress. Slip into to the pool, enjoy the ocean view and relax in the Maui sun.

    This is also the only complex in Ma’alaea with a Jacuzzi!

    The kitchen has stainless steel appliances and is fully equipped with:

      • Pots and Pans

      • All of the essential supplies to cook & enjoy your meal

      • Coffee Maker & Keurig (for you coffee lovers!)

    Our Master Suite has a cal king-sized bed with a brand new mattress.  This condo has windows in the bedroom & living room-- the perfect placement to allow the prevailing trade winds to keep the unit cool.

    The living room has a sofa sleeper. 

    Our bathroom is beautifully tiled with a clean updated and stylish look. We provide bath towels, hand towels, washcloths, even beach towels.

    Enjoy a meal on the private lanai, or just sit out and enjoy the view.

    A 5 minute walk takes you to Ma’alaea Harbor where you will find:
    A Small Grocery Store, a Deli, Craft Market & Restaurants.

      • the Pacific Whale Foundation

      • Miniature Golf

      • Shopping

      • Access to the Ocean Activities Available On Maui! (sunset dinner cruises, deep sea fishing, snorkeling tours & whale watching)

    Our location in Ma’alaea makes getting anywhere on the island easy:

      • 15 minutes from the airport.

      • A short drive south to the long village of Kihei + the resorts of Wailea.

      • About 20 minutes from the old whaling village of Lahaina (known for its magnificent Banyan Tree, shopping galleries and restaurants).

    You could not have picked a better location to start exploring Maui!

    We have stayed in other rentals on the island and often found they were lacking in amenities (especially in the kitchen.) Naturally, we have gone to great lengths to make sure that we provide everything you need to make your trip comfortable & inviting.

    We provide an initial supply of: Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, and Other dispensable items to get you started on your vacation.

    December 15-April 15        $285/night        minimum stay: 7 nights

    April 16-December 14        $240/night        minimum stay: 5 nights

    Additional Fees:

    • tax 17.416% (Hawaii Tax ID GE/TA-130-671-2064-01)
    • $250 security deposit
    • $195 cleaning fee
    • $20/night for every guest over two, maximum occupancy 4 guests
    • 3% fee for credit card, 5% for international credit card

    Note: Until confirmed, rates are subject to change without notice.

    Pay by US$ check or credit card 

    Payment terms:  Pay in full or ½ up front and balance due 60 days prior to arrival date.

    CANCELLATION POLICY:

    More than 60 days: we will refund amount paid less a $100 cancellation/change fee and any credit card charges if applicable.

     

    Less than 60 days: no refund. We strongly recommend purchasing trip cancellation insurance.

    It was great to be back in Maui after many years of absence. Many more turtles than 25 years ago- we loved to watch them right out front. The condo was very comfortable and equipped beyond expectation. Traveled throughout Maui and enjoyed it all. Wonderful break for us from the snow and cold of Alberta.

    Thank you for sharing your beautiful breathtaking home with us! The views are absolutely mesmerizing! Especially since we were able to sit outside to watch the sunset with an added bonus of the whale watching!

    The mornings have been the absolute best for sure! This was such a perfect location for us and we were able to visit so many places!

    We definitely highly recommend “The Road to Hana” tour! The view, the waterfalls and the experience was amazing!

    Also, Makena Beach is the perfect place to go for a swim or lay out in the sun.

    We were able to eat at a different restaurant every day. We highly recommend:

    • Three’s bar (order the beer can chicken! Yumm)

    • Da Kitchen (has the best Kalbi Ribs)

    • 808 Grindz (for breakfast)

    • Bad Ass Coffee in Lahaina!

    Thanks very much Gail & Steve for sharing this piece of paradise. [Ma’alaea #01] was a great choice! Well appointed with everything & more than we needed.

    Coffee & breakfast on the Lanai, Sunrise great view. We also took advantage of the BBQ one night around sunset, excellent.

    We spend a lot of time touring everyday: Haleakala, Hana, Beaches, O-O Farm Tour + Lunch-- highly recommend. Maui Brewing Company-- also recommend a visit! New one in Kihei-- newer restaurant.

    We had been to the island over 20 years ago- so there have been a lot of changes - all positive. After a long day’s away it was great to come “home” to this comfort zone knowing we were well equipped with whatever we needed to do next.

    The chairs, snorkel, coolers were put to good use every day-- thanks again for all the amenities. While we did see numerous sea turtles out front we also got a bonus last night.

    We wanted to catch our last sunset over from Kihei. We packed up our towels, cooler, bamboo mat and headed over to Kamaole Beach. We heard about the food trucks over there, so we bought take out & headed to the beach. Enjoyed dinner, refreshments & took lots of pictures.

    Just after sunset we were able to see 2 or 3 humpback whales frolicking about 250 years off shore-- fantastic to see some action & regular “blowing” helped to follow their path.

    We can’t thank you enough for having the pleasure of staying at your wonderful Hale! It truly is paradise. We could not have asked for a better location. Everything was within easy driving distance, beaches for days, sea turtles galore + more! Our favorite thing every day was waking up to the beautiful sunrise + having breakfast on the lanai. We equally loved coming back from a long day @ the beach or after a hiking adventure to relax + watch the sunset.

    Our favorite beach was ‘Big Beach’ @ Makena State Park as it felt very remote and away from it all. Though, not for everyone if you are not a strong swimmer.

    Our favorite hike was Pipiwai Trail on our Road to Hana Trip & the Waianapanapa Black Sand Beach! Gorgeous!

    You truly have thought of everything. We loved the guest/welcome book & tips. (We highly recommend the Gypsy Guide App for Road to Hana!) We used the beach chairs, umbrella + snorkel everyday. It was perfect.

    Thank you so much for allowing us the opportunity to stay in your condo during our stay on Maui. It was such a beautiful place to call home during our short stay here. Everything we could have needed was there plus more that we didn’t know we needed. So thank you for extra thoughtful touches you included.

    Things we really enjoyed:

    • Sunrise @ Haleakala… be prepared! It was cold up there.

    • Snorkeling - we went with Aqua Adventures which left out of Ma’alea Harbor so you could technically walk there & save on parking.

    • If you’re a golfer - the Kapalua Plantation course was beautiful. Pricy, but worth it. You get to play where the pros play!

    • The Wailea Golf course was also a great course to play.

    We had an absolutely wonderful stay & we can’t wait to come back. We Will definitely see if the condo is available next time.

    Aloha Gail & Steve!

    We enjoyed our trip so much! You have such a beautiful place. What a gem! You have thought of everything to make everyone’s stay that much more enjoyable. 

    Every morning we walked to the harbor, grabbed a coffee and breakfast from Ma’alaea General Store and walked down to the harbor where all the tour boats leave & watched the turtles swim & eat up against the break wall.

    We went to Haleakala for sunrise, did a Four Winds II Snorkel & Whale Watch (crew was amazing!) & visited a few beaches.

    Watching the whales from the Lanai was incredible as were the turtles & snorkeling right from the beach. We met some wonderful people here while we BBQ or swam.

    We would highly recommend this place and we will be back for sure. Our 7 yr. Son Thomas had the best time. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise.

    Thank you so much for such a great place to stay in! I absolutely loved your little condo. It’s decorated so nicely. The kitchen and patio were my favorite places to be in! The view is incredible! This was my second time in Maui (with my boyfriend) and we loved our stay in your condo.

    Our favorite part of the trip?  Whale watching!

    We saw so many whales- even little baby whales with their mothers (so cute!) I highly recommend whale watching if you’ve never gone!

    • Dinner Cruise out from Lahaina Harbor. So fun and romantic!

    • Seeing Sea Turtles! We got so many good photos!

    • Road to Hana

    Again, thank you for opening your home to us. We hope to return to Maui in the near future.

    Aloha!

    You all will LOVE Steve & Gail’s place. Just a few tips from our 10 days here on Beautiful Maui!

    1. Pacific Whale Foundation is a great company to do a whale watch!

    2. Makena Beach 3rd entrance was our favorite! Its a large beach with hardly anyone on it. Great place to watch the sunset over Molokini Crater!

    3. Road to Hana- Go from the bottom to the top! Less people and more ocean scenery! Just watch out for the cows on the roads! They really do stand in the middle of the highway. Fill up with gas before you go!

    4. 7 Sacred Pools: the waterfall hikes are amazing as well. The waterfall hike takes you through the bamboo forest which is a must!

    5. Lahaina is a great shopping town

    6. Nakalele blowhole is beautiful but there is quite a hike down to it. Don’t wear flip flops. The natural shape heart rock is here too and we totally missed it!

    7. Ho’okeipa Beach is amazing for Sea Turtle sightings and watching surfing. Would not recommend this beach for swimming. Waves in March were about 15 feet high.

    8. Four Winds II is who we used for snorkeling the Molokini Crater. You get the most time to snorkel over all the other options. 

    9. The Mauna Loa Beach Marriott is the best for a Luau. They do it all the way!

    10. Explore & talk to locals. That's how we had the best time. They know where all the good places are and are happy to tell you!

    Really enjoyed our stay! We love the location away from the main resort areas.Watching the turtles right out front was very soothing for the mind! Luau in Lahaina was very good and food was excellent. North shore zipline was a lot of fun. Saw whales from the Lanai every day with the binoculars.

    Great place! Special way for us to enjoy and celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

    Thank you so much Gail and Steve for letting us stay in your beautiful place! We loved having breakfast and coffee every morning on the lanai. 

    Our favorite spots during our honeymoon trip were: Haleakala sunrise, Road to Hana (esp. Red Sand Beach!) and our boat trip with Ocean Riders-- highly recommend!!

    We had so many wonderful meals here in Maui including Merrimans, The Mill House, and Maui Brewing Co.

    We hope to come back some day! Thank you for being part of making our honeymoon so special.

    Your thoughtfulness is more than we could ever expect! The cooler was especially helpful for our day trips to Hana and Haleakala. We did not forget to spend some much needed R&R time on the lanai, where the “loft” bag repellant came in very handy.

    The first thing we read was your binder of helpful hints. Excellent!! The second thing we read were all the comment in this book- which made me want to go to Mama’s Fish House- too bad- no reservations available during our stay! So we went to Sorento’s in Kihei- absolutely beautiful sunset!! Worth going if just for dinner on the beach. We’ll have to return for Mama’s.

    Your home was the highlight of our trip! We loved the views on the lanai at sunset so much that we cancelled our dinner plans and opted to grill outside here instead! Dinner overlooking the water was amazing every night! We also loved coffee and breakfast on the lanai at 5:30AM watching the sun come up. We loved the private beach out front and one evening had a 200lb turtle beach right next to us!

    We saw so many turtles here we lost count. We also loved sleeping here- the sound of the waves crashing and the cool breeze and sounds of wind whistling- so restful! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

    • Highly recommend driving entire route to Hana- Don’t turn around. Views were more epic on second half. Some rental  companies don’t allow this- sixt did- we were fine in the Jeep.

    Aloha! We have truly enjoyed our stay in your lovely, well-appointed condo! We felt like we were at home! The location is perfect! Easy to get to any part of the island. The views from the balcony are amazing - we will miss the sound of the waves, the views of the ocean + lovely tropical breezes the minute we board the plane. 

    Our time here on Maui was perfect! We enjoyed so many things- most notably:

    1. Ululani’s Shave Ice - Yum! (try all the flavors!)

    2. Old Lahaina Luau - great food, great show, great location!

    3. Sugar Beach Bakery in Kihei - Malasadas!

    4. Hula Grill in Whalers Village - Awesome view

    5. Snorkeling + Turtle sightings from the beaches (anywhere)

    6. Road to Hana + Haleakala (not on same day)

    7. Ocean Organic Vodka tour + tasting - fun + great views

    8. Slack key guitar show @ napili kai beach resort - excellent traditional Hawaiian guitar music (reserve)

    And many other things - including time at pool + just chilling. It is so quiet here - love it!

    This was our 1st trip to Maui but not our last! We loved staying at your place! You’ve thought of everything anyone would need. The location is perfect as a home base to travel anywhere on the island for a day trip.

    We enjoyed walks on the beach, the Maui Ocean Centre, the sunset at Haleakala, snorkeling at Molokini Island & much more.

    We are not very happy to leave & go back to our Canadian winter. However, we will be back again!

    We really want to thank you for allowing us to share your little piece of paradise. Your “Hale” made us feel very welcome!

    You have provided everything that we could possibly need. All of the decorating and furniture really help to make others feel right @ home.

    Your bed was also very comfortable, it was nice to be able to sleep so comfortably after a full day of exploring or snorkeling. We really enjoyed the private beach. Well semi-private, the turtles showed up every time we were enjoying it. They know a great location when they find one!

    Things we also really enjoyed:

    • Turtles right off the beach. Snorkeling was also good on days when it was clear out front.

    • Blue water rafting - Kanaio coast. Excellent snorkeling- we saw a huge manta ray. Coral is fantastic. Turtle town visit was great.

    • Road to Hana - the journey was made even better than other times by using the “Gypsy Road” app.

    • Eating @ Beach Bums, Happy hour Tante’s, great Thai at Thai Paradise, and great view at Mill House.

    Great location. Loved hearing the waves playing "The IZ" + Playing my new Coconut Kala Uke. Sugar Beach on a clear sea day was a highlight after swimming with 3 Green Sea Turtles. Played 6 Rounds of Golf at Wailea Blue, Emerald, Gold, Kaanapali Royal + Kai. The Bay course at Kaanapali was my favorite- par 3 hitting over the ocean + parking the hole was spectacular. 

    Food got very pricey in Hawaii, but that's Paradise. Merriman's best view + food. Favorite Restaurant - Lelani's! On the beach- Hala Pia (Kaanapali Feast of Lele Luau). Dube's Beach House. Kimo's in Lahaina. I also would recommend the Aquarium for Kids + Adults.

    If there is a better way to start the year, we don’t know it. What a treat it was to be here! And the location is perfect! Not only yummy Beach Bum is walking distance, but we are about 20-25 minutes from Kihei, Lahaina and the North Shore. As we leave today we are driving a little around the Hana Road using the app you recommended.

    Everything was wonderful! We’ll be back if we can, and will spread the word about the condo.

    Our time here in your lovely condo has been so relaxing. I believe you have one of the most well equipped places that we have ever stayed in. The bed was so comfortable and sheets + pillows fantastic. This is our first trip that we didn’t act as tour guides for family or friends and many days were just spent relaxing on the lanai watching whales! Hope your place is available when we return again.
